Radiance is one of the longest-lasting injectable implants for lip
enlargements and is also used for soft tissue augmentation in the correction
of deep facial folds and creases and restoration of volume loss in hollow
facial areas. Radiance consists of calcium hydroxylapatite suspended
in gel. Because calcium hydroxylapatite is a normal constituent of bone,
it should not elicit a chronic inflammatory or immune response and does
not require allergy testing. Radiance is a safe, effective, and non-surgical
treatment, which provides immediate smoothing out of wrinkles and most scars.
Radiance has proven to be a very versatile facial contouring product
and has demonstrated durable augmentation in areas such as chin and cheek
where a larger volume is required. It maintains a soft, natural feel and
takes on the characteristics of the surrounding skin tissue. The areas that
respond best to treatment are naso-labial folds (laugh lines), peri-oral
lines (around the mouth), lip enhancement, depressed scars, and oral commissures
(corners of the lips).
What are Radiance treatments like?
Injection of Radiance may be painful, however, a topical cream (ELA-Max)
may be applied one hour prior to procedure or dental blocks may be performed
immediately before the procedure. Radiance is then injected into the
wrinkles with a needle. The procedure takes about 15 minutes. Following
the procedure, patients may immediately return back to daily activities,
however, treatment sights may be swollen for 1-2 days. Additionally, bruising
may appear at the injection sight, which may be covered with makeup.
How long will the results last?
Radiance should provide a long lasting correction, however individual
results may vary, affected by age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.
Depending on the areas treated, most of the correction may last for several
months, or even years. Touch up treatments may be necessary. |
