Steven Leon has been a Dermatology Physician Assistant since 2006. He is a graduate of UC San Diego and earned his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of the Health Sciences, the largest Physician Assistant program in California. Steven practices at our Palmdale, Bakersfield and Ridgecrest locations. He is an expert in all aspects of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He has a special interest in skin cancer treatment and prevention and enjoys working with high risk populations. He has achieved the highest level of certification in his field, earning his Diplomat certification from the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Steven is a recognized leader in his field. This is demonstrated by his 7 nationally published articles in Practical Dermatology, Derm Perspectives, and SDPA journal. These articles cover topics such as pharmacology, skin cancer prevention, skin care products, patient education and acne treatment. He believes that good patient education is the key to good results. To improve patient education in the field of dermatology, he started the "Patient Education Library" on the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants website. His own patient education handouts are posted there and used by Physician Assistants and Dermatologists across the country.
Michael Roos was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served as a medic in the US Army from 1988 – 1994. His service included tours in Germany, Iraq / Kuwait, and Oklahoma. While stationed in Germany, his unit was deployed to the Middle East, in January 1990, to take part in the ground war in Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. He remained in Kuwait after the war, until May 1990, providing general health care for the Kuwaiti People during Operation Provide Comfort. After leaving Kuwait, he was restationed to Reynolds Army Hospital in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. There he worked as an emergency medical technician (EMT) on a Paramedic level ambulance service and in the Emergency Room for 3 years.
Mr. Roos left military service to pursue his education in medicine, while working full time in pharmaceutical research, and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1999. He graduated from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center's Physician Assistant Program in 2001. He worked in Dermatology for Las Vegas Skin and Cancer Clinics from June 2001 – July 2010. There he treated all types of dermatology conditions, ranging from acne, psoriasis, and autoimmune diseases to surgical removal of moles, cysts, Basal Cell, Squamous Cell and Melanoma Cancers. Mr. Roos has performed thousands of such surgical procedures. During his time with Las Vegas Skin and Cancer Clinics he spent 5 years helping to train resident physicians during their Dermatology Residencies. He has been trained, and has over 10 years of experience, in cosmetic injectable and laser treatments. Mr. Roos joined our clinics in Las Vegas, Pahrump and Mesquite on July 1, 2010.
William Lee received his physician assistant training through the U.S Army Physician Assistant School, graduating at the top of his class in 1993. He began his dermatology specialty practice in 2000, training at the Laser and Dermatology Institute of California extensively in Cosmetic Laser and Aesthetic procedures. During his 14 years of Dermatology experience he has treated thousands of patients. Utilizing all types of Lasers, fillers, Botox, he has accomplished exceptional aesthetic outcomes. He is equally focused on the latest technologies and newest techniques.
William currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the California Army National Guard. His military services has greatly enhanced his ability to practice in Cardiology, Internal medicine and family practice disciplines giving him a wide breadth of knowledge and medical experience. Continuing education has always been a goal of William's, earning a Masters degree in Physician Studies from the University of Nebraska as well as a double Master's from the University of Florida in Forensic Toxicology and forensic DNA serology. His background denotes a focus on overall wellness, a holistic approach to dermatology and unparalleled dedication to patient care.
